5000 Metres – A Descent into the Unknown

The ocean is vast. Deep. Unforgiving.

5000 Metres is the first chapter in an upcoming fishing roguelike, but there is no warmth in these waters. You play as an unnamed fisherman, alone in the middle of an endless, black sea, entrusted with a singular task: deliver and secure a device on the ocean floor. Safely. But the deep does not welcome visitors.

The controls are simple.

 Press S to lower the device. Press D to clap your hands.

 Press Ctrl to crouch, 

The sea is restless. Shapes flicker beneath the waves, obscured by the murk, moving just beyond your vision. They do not rise, but they wait. Some are nothing more than schools of fish—hundreds of tiny bodies, sharp and quick, moving as one. They scatter at the sound of a clap, but if left undeterred, they like eating metal and wood.

Then, there is something else. A creature sleek and intelligent, moving with eerie precision, as if testing you. It does not fear your presence. It watches, waiting for a moment of weakness. A misstep. When it approaches, there is only one thing you can do: lower yourself, disappear from its sight. Crouch. Hold your breath. Pray.

But deeper still, something more ancient stirs. You do not see it at first. You feel it—a shift in the water, a pressure that tightens around your ribs. The groaning song of something massive. Something that should not be disturbed. And when it speaks in its terrible voice, you must obey. Press S. Drop the device. Sink. Do not hesitate.

The deeper you go, the thinner the air feels. Your hands tremble over the controls. The device must reach the ocean bed. You must reach the ocean bed. But the sea is not an empty void. It is watching. It is listening.

And it does not want you here.

5000 Metres is just the beginning. The first level in a larger descent into something dark and unknowable. There are more creatures yet to be seen. More horrors waiting in the abyss. You will go deeper. If the ocean allows it.
